Wait... what is beta testing?
A hunt for bugs. Beta testing is the best chance to find bugs and usability issues before a product is fully released. It provides thorough feedback about the usability, user experience and identifies issues by assessing the way target users would interact with your product. There are many types of testing, each with their own strengths. They can involve a complete exploration of the product, running scripted scenarios or be exploratory (which for me is the one that will allow to better behave like a genuine user). Beta testing can be done by brand advocates, consumers or professional testers.

Fees
My current Beta Testing fee is $30 per hour. I only charge for the time I spend testing. The time spent doing the report presentation is not charged.
We can agree on a maximum budget, and I will adjust my methodology accordingly.
For example, if you have a budget of $250 to test a 100-page e-commerce website, which is roughly 8.5 hours of testing, I will adjust my process to focus on core beta testing. This includes:
- Complete homepage/main subpages functionalities
- Main user flows
- Paths-to-purchase testing
- Showstopper issues
- Common devices simulation
This ensures that no matter what, you won’t lose sales or users due to functionality issues when the website is launched.
Need to proofread your website? I charge $0.015 per word. Why charge separately from testing? Well, proofreading is a discipline of its own and would interfere with the organic nature of the beta testing process.
For an additional $30, I will edit screen recordings and voice-overs to show you all the bugs and suggestions I may have. This is a great way to display more complex bugs on top of the written reports.
